Tuition Fees - 2012
Fees are valid for the 2011 academic year only. Your registration fee will pay for the
module for which you have registered, your examination (excluding
supplementary, special and aegrotat exams) and your study material. You
will, however, need to buy your prescribed books separately at one of the
approved Unisa booksellers.
Students will be required to pay the fees once registration
is approved. Due to the constant fluctuations in the exchange rate, you may
not be debited with the exact amount. In this case, the difference may be
paid at a later stage.
It is impossible to indicate precise study costs for a particular student.
However, the following will give you some indication.
All distance learning programmes offered in this website are
UNISA (University of South Africa) academic programmes. Certificate, Diploma,
Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees are awarded by UNISA and not by IACI.
All fees shown in this page are UNISA exact fees in Rand currency.
Most students take only two or three courses per year. Remember that you
also have to purchase prescribed books. You should therefore budget
carefully to determine whether the financial burden will not be too
heavy.
Most first degree programs consist of workloads between 10 modules per
year, 5 per semester for BA degree, in total 30 modules. A module runs for 32 weeks. Each
module will require
written assignments and at least one proctored examination. A module runs
for 14 -16 weeks. Each module will require written assignments and at least
one proctored examination.
* Part-time students are advised to distribute their study over five years
(6:6:6:6:6).
* Full-time students are advised to distribute their study over three years
(10:10:10).
In other words, a complete B.A. degree will cost about US$5600 in tuition
fees only. Master's Dissertation about US$1985 per
year, and Doctoral Dissertation about US$2264 per
year. This does not include externally purchased textbooks, which some
modules will require
The government is currently investigating the policy regarding
the subsidy for foreign students. Your attention is drawn to the fact that
prescribed student fees could increase substantially in the future. The
university reserves the right to charge fees in certain countries in the
currency of that country.
Please note that you do not need to
provide credit card details along with your application form. You will be
notified of the amount payable and methods of payment only when your application
is approved. You
may also use PayPal directly from our homepage website for Tuition and
Application Fees payment.
Application fees are $100.
This fee
will pay the university application
fees and the currier cost to send
your full package application to
UNISA. You may use PayPal for
payment directly from our homepage
website.
