College of Economic & Management Sciences
The College offers career-oriented BCom degrees in the fields of economics, financial management, human resource management, industrial and organizational psychology, informatics, internal auditing, law local government accounting, marketing management, management, risk management and transport economics.
The College also presents a general BCom degree, a BCompt degree, which trains numerous students for management and administrative positions in public institutions, such as government departments, provincial and local authorities and corporations. In addition, a BBA degree is offered for those students who require broad-based training in business. The College of Economic and Management Sciences was the first College at Unisa to change to a modular credit and semester system, effective from 1998.
The Unisa College of Economic and Management Sciences has developed strong partnerships with the private sector and international universities to ensure that it continues to provide internationally recognized, innovative and relevant business education that meet the needs of a rapidly changing market. The College is also home to the prestigious Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL) and industry-standard Bureau of Market Research.
In addition to its extensive collaboration with foreign universities, such as the Open University in the United Kingdom, the College draws on an international network of academic exchange agreements, ensuring international recognition and world-wide acknowledgement of standard maintenance.
Supplementing its acclaimed range of career-oriented degree courses, the College also offers post-graduate studies in all of its departments, and over fifty certificate courses and programs.
