Registration Dates for 2008

Student registrations for the 2008 academic year - for all qualifications - will commence on 3 DECEMBER 2007. The registration activity will close on 21 December 2007 for the recess period. The registration period will re-commence on 3 January 2008

Students writing examinations at Senior Certificate level or at a recognized tertiary institution in October/November 2007 must await the release of their results before seeking to register at the University.

The closing dates of the different registration activities and cycles are as follows:

1. 17 JANUARY 2008

Postal registrations (Internet, fax, licensee, SAPO applications) for students who are registering for the first semester for formative and professional qualifications

2. 1 FEBRUARY 2008

  • Personal registrations for students registering for the first semester for formative and professional qualifications
  • Honors BCompt, CTA and PGDA

Students registering for modules offered in the first semester must note that the tuition period commences on 01 February 2008. Students will NOT be allowed to register for first semester modules after the 1 February 2008.

3. 14 FEBRUARY 2008

  • For students registering for the Honors BCompt (CTA) who participated in supplementary examinations .

4. 6 MARCH 2008

  • For students registering for CYCLE 1/year courses/modules, excluding registrations for first-semester modules
  • For students registering for modules offered in the second semester for formative and professional qualifications
  • For students who wrote examinations in January/February 2008 at Unisa or another recognized tertiary institution.
  • For study units which are dependent on the results of a January/February 2008 examination/s, excluding modules offered in the first semester.
  • For students registering and re-registering for BTech, Honors (except the Honors BCompt (CTA)) (see 1 February 2008), Master's and Doctor's degrees

5.     3 APRIL 2008

  • For Honors, Master's and Doctor's students who wrote examinations in January/February 2008 and whose registrations are dependent on the results of those examinations.

THE UNIVERSITY WILL BE CLOSED FOR ALL REGISTRATION ACTIVITIES FROM 5 APRIL 2008 TO 30 MAY 2008.

  • Registration dates for the SECOND SEMESTER and SECOND CYCLE begins on 2 JUNE 2008 for all qualifications where study units are offered in these periods

The closing dates are as specified below:

26 JUNE 2008

  • Students registering for the first time in 2008 (i.e. students who are not awaiting examination results from the May/June 2008 examinations) for the SECOND semester for formative and professional qualifications

10 JULY 2008

  • For students who have written examinations in May/June 2008 and are re-registering (adding modules)   for the SECOND semester for formative and professional qualifications

NOTE:

  • Registrations for the second semester also takes place between 3 December 2007 to 6 March 2008.
  • Students registering for modules offered in the second semester must note that the tuition period commences on 14 July 2008. Students will NOT be allowed to register for second semester modules   after the 11 July 2008.
  • For CYCLE 2 year modules except for undergraduate qualifications in CSET
  • The University and its various offices are closed on public holidays, Saturdays (see below for the exceptions), Sundays, the Easter weekend and from 12:00 (10:00 for the registration halls) on 21 December 2007 to 07:45 on 2 January 2008.

Notice is drawn to the fact that the University will be open for registration on the following Saturdays in 2008:
